PL 1820 Silver 2 Zlote Alexander I Coin - A silver 2 Zlote coin from the Kingdom of Poland, issued under the Russian Empire and dated 1820. The obverse features a right-facing portrait of a ruler with the surrounding legend ALEXANDER I CESARZ SA W ROS KROL POLSKI. The reverse depicts a double-headed imperial eagle with a shield on its breast, encircled by the legend 2 ZLOTE POLSKIE 1820 20 Z GRZ CZ KOL. The reverse also bears the initials IB. The coin is housed in a white cardboard coin flip featuring handwritten notations in black ink including 1820, VG, 2 ZLOTE Polish, 75., and .593 Silver. The coin is composed of .593 fine silver as indicated on the packaging. The coin exhibits heavy circulation wear consistent with the very good (VG) grade noted on the holder. Central design elements, including the hair detail on the portrait (photo 2) and the feathers of the eagle (photo 3), are worn flat. The legends and the date remain clearly legible. The surfaces show a dull grey patina with dark toning concentrated around the lettering and design peripheries. Scattered minor surface marks and light contact scratches are visible on both the obverse and reverse.
