American Mint 2001 Liberia $10 George W. Bush Commemorative Coin - This 2001 Republic of Liberia $10 commemorative coin was produced by the American Mint as part of The Presidents of the USA series. The silver-toned coin features an obverse portrait of George W. Bush set against a stylized American flag, encircled by the legend GEORGE W. BUSH 43rd PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA $10. The reverse depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia, with the legend 2001 above and REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA below. The central design is flanked by the characters 10 on the left and OZ on the right. The coin is housed in a clear plastic protective capsule and is accompanied by a paper Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate features a printed blue circular logo above the boxed text AMERICAN MINT and bears the serial number C 25054 printed between two stars. The protective plastic capsule is severely damaged on the obverse side, exhibiting a central impact point with radiating fractures that obscure the portrait (photo 2). The coin shows light peripheral toning and surface dust visible beneath the capsule (photo 3). The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity shows minor surface soiling and age-related yellowing (photo 1).
