A Pair of Australian 1943-D Silver Three Pence Coins - A pair of sterling silver three pence coins issued for circulation in Australia. Both coins are dated 1943 and feature a small D mint mark on the reverse above the ribbon, identifying them as products of the US Mint in Denver. The obverse shows the bare-headed portrait of King George VI facing left with the legend GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP. The reverse features three wheat stalks bound by a ribbon with the inscriptions AUSTRALIA, 1943, and THREE PENCE. Each coin has a reeded edge and is composed of .925 fine silver. Weight: 0.091 ozt (combined). Both coins are in circulated condition. One specimen shows light wear with minor surface scratches and scattered nicks visible in photos 2 and 3. The second specimen exhibits heavy dark toning and oxidation across both the obverse and reverse, with wear to the high points of the design visible in photos 4 and 5.
