Sterling Silver and Square Turquoise Cabochon Pendant Necklace - An Italian sterling silver pendant necklace featuring a centrally set square cabochon of turquoise with a prominent dark spiderweb matrix. The stone is housed in a bezel setting and surrounded by a decorative frame consisting of an inner twisted wire border and an outer border of granulated silver beads. The pendant is suspended from a tapered bail on a Figaro-style chain, which consists of alternating long and short links and is secured with a spring ring clasp. The reverse of the pendant backplate is impressed with the number 925 near the bottom corner. The chain includes an oval end tag stamped 925 on one side; the reverse of the tag features an impressed mark within a lozenge-shaped border consisting of a star, the numerals 250, and the letters AR, denoting manufacture in Arezzo, alongside the word ITALY. Chain length: 18 inches Pendant: 1 inch by 1 inch. The necklace is in good condition. The turquoise cabochon shows a natural matrix and surface texture with no visible chips or cracks (photo 2). Surface tarnish is present on the silver, most noticeably in the recessed areas of the decorative granulation and on the reverse side of the pendant (photo 3). The Figaro-style chain and spring ring clasp appear to be in functional order (photo 4).
