A Collection of CA Banknotes Including 1954, 1986, and 2001 Series - This collection of paper currency issued by the Bank of Canada consists of multiple banknotes spanning three distinct design eras. Included are two 5 dollar notes from the 2001 Canadian Journey series featuring Sir Wilfrid Laurier on the obverse and children playing hockey on the reverse, bearing signatures of M.D. Knight and D.A. Dodge with serial numbers AOF0172094 and AOF2008618. A single 5 dollar note from the 1986 Birds of Canada series features Laurier and a Belted Kingfisher, also signed by Knight and Dodge with serial number GPW6384154. The collection also contains a 2 dollar note from the 1986 series depicting Queen Elizabeth II and American Robins, with signatures of G.G. Thiessen and J.W. Crow and serial number BGC5143243. Two 1 dollar notes from the 1954 series feature Queen Elizabeth II and a prairie landscape; one carries signatures of J.R. Beattie and J.E. Coyne with serial number 3527975, while the other is signed by G.K. Bouey and R.W. Lawson with serial number 1550169. The issuer is identified as Bank of Canada - Banque du Canada on all notes, with denominations printed as ONE DOLLAR / UN DOLLAR, TWO DOLLARS / DEUX, and FIVE DOLLARS / CINQ. Individual notes measure approximately 6 inches in width. The banknotes are in circulated condition, ranging from Very Good to Fine. Significant condition defects include heavy brown staining and foxing in the center of the Beattie-Coyne 1 dollar note reverse (photo 2) and along the bottom edge of the Bouey-Lawson 1 dollar note reverse (photo 2). The 2 dollar and 1986 5 dollar notes show prominent vertical center folds and multiple corner creases (photo 1). The 2001 series notes exhibit lighter handling wear, including soft corner folds and minor surface soiling (photo 1). None of the items are held in professional grading slabs.
