Bidspirit auction | Sterling Silver and Enamel Lucky

Sterling Silver and Enamel Lucky Totem Pole Souvenir Fork - A vintage souvenir pickle or hors d'oeuvre fork crafted from sterling silver with polychrome enamel accents. The handle is modeled in the form of a vertically stacked totem pole featuring Northwest Coast indigenous-style figures, including a winged crest at the top and zoomorphic characters below. These figures are decorated with enamel in shades of green, red, orange, and blue. The reverse of the handle is embossed with the characters LUCKY TOTEM POLE in block lettering. The base of the handle is impressed with an oval mark reading STERLING and a pictorial mark consisting of two crossed spoons. The crossed spoons device is the trademark for the Shepard Manufacturing Company. The fork terminates in a two-tine head designed for serving small appetizers or garnishes. Length: Approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm). The fork is in good vintage condition. Fine surface scratches and moderate tarnish are visible on the silver throughout, most notably on the reverse of the handle and on the tines (photo 2). The polychrome enamel decoration is largely intact, with minor surface wear and small areas of thinning at the highest points of the relief on the totem figures (photo 1). The two tines are straight and maintain proper alignment (photo 4).
