Vermeil Sterling Silver Open Heart Pendant on Box Chain with Blue and Clear Gemstones - A vermeil sterling silver necklace featuring a Chinese-made open heart pendant on an Italian-made box chain. The open heart pendant is set with seven round-cut dark blue gemstones, consistent with sapphires, alternating with seven round-cut clear accent stones, likely cubic zirconia or white topaz. The stones are secured in prong settings around the perimeter of the heart motif. The pendant is suspended from a tapered bail on a fine box chain. The necklace is secured with a spring ring clasp. Marks are located on multiple components of the jewelry. The oval tag on the chain is impressed on one side with the characters 925 ITALY and on the reverse with a square mark containing a capital letter R. The spring ring clasp is stamped 925. The reverse of the pendant bail is impressed with 925 above a square mark containing a capital letter R. The back of the pendant body features an embossed rectangular plaque reading CHINA. The gold plating is applied over a 925 sterling silver base metal. Chain length: Approximately 18 inches Pendant height: Approximately 0.75 inches. The necklace is in good pre-owned condition with visible signs of wear consistent with use. There is noticeable thinning and wear to the gold plating on high-friction areas, particularly on the reverse of the pendant bail (photo 4), the reverse of the pendant heart (photo 4), and the clasp assembly (photo 3), which reveals the silver base metal beneath. All gemstones appear to be present and securely held in their settings (photo 2). The spring ring clasp is in functional working order.
