Bidspirit auction | German Victorian Revival Gold-Toned Filigree

German Victorian Revival Gold-Toned Filigree Panel Bracelet with Purple Stones and Faux Pearls - A German wide hinged panel bracelet designed in a Victorian Revival style. The bracelet features four rectangular panels decorated with high-relief, intricate gold-toned filigree scrollwork and coiled wire motifs. The central element of each panel is a large, faceted purple stone with an irregular rough-cut surface, surrounded by smaller oval-faceted purple stones. Small white faux pearls are positioned throughout the filigree, held in individual pronged settings. The panels are connected by internal hinges and the piece is secured with a box-tab clasp and a gold-toned safety chain with a spring ring fastener. The reverse of the panels is constructed with flat metal plates that house the hinge mechanisms. As per user provided information, the bracelet is marked Germany. Length: approximately 7.25 inches Width: approximately 1.5 inches. The metal shows visible surface wear and tarnish, particularly on the interior of the bracelet panels (photo 7). The large purple stones exhibit natural-appearing internal inclusions and several surface abrasions that are consistent with age and wear (photos 1 and 2). One small pronged setting on the upper right area of the first panel is missing its stone or pearl (photo 2). The intricate filigree wires are generally intact, though some areas show slight displacement or minor bends (photo 5). The box-tab clasp and safety chain with spring ring are present and functional (photo 4).
