Bidspirit auction | Modernist Gold-Tone Wire and Green
Modernist Gold-Tone Wire and Green Cabochon Fringe Necklace - A handmade necklace featuring three translucent green cabochons set in decorative gold-tone wire scrollwork. The central pendant is framed by intricate wire filigree and supports a tiered fringe of six strands of black glass bugle beads, each terminating in a flat, spade-shaped metal drop. The neck chain is composed of triple strands of black tubular glass bugle beads interspersed with decorative wire connectors. The piece is finished with a hand-formed wire hook-and-loop clasp. The design reflects a Modernist or Tribal Revival aesthetic. No maker's marks, signatures, or metal purity stamps are visible on the item. Necklace length approximately 12.5 inches when doubled and laid flat (photo 5). Pendant section approximately 4.5 inches in height from the top connector to the lowest fringe drop (photo 5). The necklace is in good vintage condition. Minor surface oxidation and a darkened patina are visible on the gold-tone wire, particularly in the recessed areas of the scrollwork, consistent with age (photo 1, 2). All green cabochons, glass beads, and metal drops appear to be present and securely attached. No chips or cracks are observed in the stones or glass components. Category: Fashion Jewelry
