1921 United States Morgan Silver Dollar - A 1921 Morgan silver dollar composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap with the word LIBERTY on the band, surrounded by the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, thirteen stars, and the date 1921. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with spread wings holding an olive branch and arrows, encircled by a laurel wreath and the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR, with the motto In God we trust in Gothic script above the eagle. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the coin displays no mint mark on the reverse above the denomination. The coin is housed in a white cardboard and plastic 2x2 flip secured with staples. The holder features several notations: a green ink inscription reading 1921 and 10e at the upper left, a white rectangular adhesive label with the number 38 in black ink at the upper right, a handwritten notation reading MS 67 in green and black ink at the lower left, and the letters RS in pencil at the lower right. The coin exhibits original mint luster with a visible cartwheel effect and sharp strike details throughout the design (photo 2). Minor surface bag marks and light abrasions are visible in the open fields of the obverse and on the cheek of Liberty (photos 1, 2). Light contact marks are present on the high points of the eagle's breast and wing feathers on the reverse (photo 4). The cardboard holder shows minor fraying and wear at the edges (photo 3).
