US 1875-S Twenty-Cent Piece PCGS AU Detail - A US 1875-S twenty-cent piece struck in silver. The obverse features the Seated Liberty design with the word LIBERTY readable on the shield and the date 1875 inscribed at the base. The reverse depicts an eagle with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the upper periphery and the denomination TWENTY CENTS around the lower periphery. An S mint mark is located above the denomination. The coin is professionally encapsulated in a PCGS holder. The obverse label is printed with 1875-S, 20C, PCGS Genuine, Cleaned-AU Detail, and the certification number 5298.92/54951190. The reverse of the holder features a label with the PCGS logo, an NFC shield icon, and the text GENUINE NOT GRADABLE. As authenticated by PCGS in photograph 1, the coin is graded AU Detail. Light wear is visible on the highest design elements, including Liberty's knee on the obverse (photograph 2) and the eagle's breast feathers on the reverse (photograph 4). The surfaces are professionally designated as Cleaned, showing evidence of past improper cleaning resulting in fine hairlines and an altered luster. Darker toning is evident along the peripheries and within the protected areas of the design.
