TR 1948 1 Lira Silver Coin - A TR .600 fine silver 1 Lira coin issued in 1948. The obverse features a struck national emblem consisting of a crescent moon and star, surrounded by the circumferential inscription TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ and the date 1948 at the base. The reverse displays the struck denomination 1 LİRA centered within a wreath of two laurel branches joined at the bottom. The coin is housed in a clear circular plastic holder. The coin exhibits significant brownish-black and grey surface toning and accumulated grime across both faces (Photos 1 and 2). Moderate wear is present on the high points of the struck design elements. A prominent diagonal scratch or planchet flaw is visible to the left of the numeral 1 on the reverse (Photo 2).
