1910 Straits Settlements Silver 5 Cents Coin - A 1910 silver 5-cent coin from the Straits Settlements. Struck in .600 fine silver, the coin features the crowned effigy of King Edward VII facing right. The obverse displays the raised legend EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR. The reverse contains a large central numeral 5 within a beaded circle, surrounded by the raised text STRAITS SETTLEMENTS, FIVE CENTS, and the date 1910. The coin is housed in a square cardboard and mylar coin flip. The holder bears handwritten characters in black ink that appear to read ENTS and SIL. The coin is in fine condition. Dark toning and a heavy surface patina are present across the obverse (photos 1, 2) and reverse (photo 3). Moderate wear is visible on the high points, particularly on the crown of the portrait and the central numeral 5. No rim dings or significant scratches are observed. The surfaces appear uncleaned with natural circulation wear.
