FR 1918 Silver 50 Centimes Coin - A French 50 centimes coin struck in .835 fine silver and dated 1918. The obverse features a standing female figure in a Phrygian cap sowing seeds against a rising sun background, with the legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. An incised signature reading O. Roty is visible below the figure at the lower left. The reverse displays the denomination 50 CENTIMES above an olive branch and the date 1918. The national motto LIBERTE · EGALITE · FRATERNITE follows the rim. Small impressed symbols flank the date: a cornucopia to the left and a torch to the right. The coin has a reeded edge and is housed in a white cardboard and clear plastic storage flip. The coin shows significant circulation wear, with flattening of high-relief details on the standing figure's drapery and head (photo 1) and on the olive leaves (photo 2). Numerous fine surface scratches and contact marks are visible throughout the fields on both the obverse and reverse (photos 1 and 2). Dark peripheral toning is present along the rims on both sides (photos 1 and 2). No third-party professional grading is present.
