Arts and Crafts Pyrography and Chip Carved Wooden Floral Box - A rectangular wooden box featuring pyrography and chip-carved decoration. The lid is ornamented with three large floral blossoms set against a stippled, recessed background, while the front panel depicts large oak leaves and the side panels show additional floral motifs. The box is constructed of a light-toned wood and is fitted with a small stamped brass latch and two rear hinges. The interior consists of unfinished wood. The underside of the base features a faint green rectangular stamp, though the characters within are not legible as a specific name or word. Length: 11.5 inches Height: 2.25 inches. A significant grayish-white haze or bloom is visible to the finish on the lid (photo 2). Several small chips and nicks to the wood are present at the corners and along the edges (photo 1 and photo 5). Surface scuffing and scratches are visible on the underside of the base (photo 7). The brass latch and hinges show signs of oxidation (photo 1 and photo 4). The interior floor exhibits scattered dark staining (photo 6).
