A Collection of Five Vintage Western and Southwestern Style Bolo Ties - This lot consists of five vintage bolo ties featuring various Western and Southwestern themes. The first tie features a 1972 United States Eisenhower dollar coin set within a silver-tone rope-twist bezel, mounted on a black braided synthetic cord with ribbed silver-tone tips. The second tie features a raw mineral specimen, appearing to be pyrite in a quartz host rock, mounted on an ornate openwork silver-tone slide with a black and white flecked braided synthetic cord and tapered, ribbed silver-tone tips. The third tie is designed as a silver-tone arrowhead-shaped slide with stamped arrow motifs, set with a central oval turquoise cabochon showing a natural matrix, on a black braided synthetic cord with smooth tapered silver-tone tips. The fourth tie features a rectangular silver-tone frame slide with a central stylized tribal figure accented with three small turquoise cabochons, mounted on a three-strand braided leather cord in black, brown, and tan tones with segmented silver-tone tips. The final tie is an oval slide featuring a crushed turquoise inlay background with a dark metal bull head motif flanked by trident symbols; this slide includes two gold-tone coiled wire dangles at the base and is mounted on a black braided synthetic cord with segmented silver-tone tips. The tension clip on the reverse of the bull head tie bears a stamped mark reading QUESTA. The collection is in good vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age. There is visible fraying and loose fibers on the black and white cord near the slide (image 5). Surface scratches and minor oxidation are present on the silver-tone metal components throughout. The gold-tone coils on the bull head tie show minor tarnish (image 11). The leather cord shows moderate stiffness. All turquoise stones and mineral specimens appear secure in their settings.
