US 1776-1976 D Kennedy Half Dollar and 1964 5-Cent Stamp Set - This lot comprises a US Bicentennial commemorative collection featuring a Kennedy half dollar and a postage stamp. The coin is a copper-nickel clad half dollar struck at the Denver Mint, identified by the D mint mark on the obverse. It carries the dual date 1776-1976 and features the Independence Hall reverse design with the designer initials SGR. The accompanying philatelic item is a 1964 Kennedy Memorial 5-cent postage stamp. Both items are displayed in a clear plastic holder with a decorative insert titled John F. Kennedy Bicentennial Coin & Stamp Collection. The back of the insert contains a Certificate of Authenticity with the printed serial number 12498. The half dollar is in uncirculated condition with original mint luster and scattered minor contact marks (photo 2). The postage stamp appears to be in mint, unused condition. The plastic display case exhibits heavy scratching and scuffing across the front and rear faces (photos 1, 3, and 4).
