A Collection of Seven Dominican Republic 10 and 25 Centavos Coins - A collection of seven coins from the Dominican Republic, comprising six 10 Centavos coins and one 25 Centavos coin. The group includes one 10 Centavos dated 1942, four 10 Centavos dated 1944, one 10 Centavos dated 1975, and one 25 Centavos dated 1944. The obverse of each coin features a left-facing female head profile wearing a feathered headdress inscribed with the word LIBERTAD. The portrait bears the stamped initials HP on the lower neck. Encircling the bust is the denomination 10 CENTAVOS or 25 CENTAVOS, the weight 2 1/2 GRAMOS or 6 1/4 GRAMOS, and the respective date. The reverse displays the Dominican Republic coat of arms consisting of a central shield with an open Bible and cross, flanked by banners reading DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD and REPUBLICA DOMINICANA. The 1942 and 1944 dated coins are composed of .900 fine silver, while the 1975 issue is copper-nickel. Weight: 0.674 ozt. The collection is in circulated condition. The 1944 25 Centavos coin shows significant surface wear, particularly to the higher points of the liberty head and the coat of arms (photo 8). The 10 Centavos coins dated 1942 and 1944 exhibit varying levels of moderate circulation wear and light grey to golden toning (photos 10, 12, 14). The 1975 10 Centavos coin retains sharper design details but displays multiple dark spots and localized surface oxidation on both sides (photo 2, 3). Minor surface scratches and contact marks are present on all coins in the group. The total weight is confirmed as 0.674 troy ounces on a digital scale (photo 16).
