US 1858-O Seated Liberty Silver Dime - This United States Seated Liberty silver dime is dated 1858. The obverse depicts Liberty seated on a rock, holding a staff with a Phrygian cap and a shield, surrounded by thirteen stars. The date 1858 is impressed at the base. The reverse features a wreath encircling the denomination DIME, with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA struck around the perimeter. A circular O mint mark is visible below the wreath, identifying the coin as a product of the New Orleans Mint. The coin is composed of .900 fine silver. It exhibits heavy circulation wear and significant mottled dark toning on both sides. Weight: 0.070 ozt. The coin is in heavily circulated condition, consistent with a Good grade. There is significant loss of detail to the central figures and wreath due to wear (photos 1, 2, 3). The surfaces display heavy, mottled dark toning and environmental spotting across both the obverse and reverse (photos 1, 2). The reeded edge is significantly worn.
