A Collection of Four US Coins Including Mercury Silver Dimes and an 1894 Liberty Head Nickel - A group of four United States coins comprising three Mercury silver dimes and one Liberty Head nickel. The dimes are struck in 90% silver and are dated 1919, 1941, and 1944. The obverse of each dime features a stylized AW monogram for the designer. The reverse of the 1941 and 1944 examples bear a small impressed S mint mark located near the bottom rim to the left of the fasces. The Liberty Head nickel is dated 1894 and composed of a copper-nickel alloy. The coin reverses bear the readable inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME. Weight: 0.386 troy oz. All coins are in heavily circulated condition with substantial wear to the high points and loss of fine detail. The 1894 nickel has a circular hole drilled through the obverse portrait at the eye (photo 7) and the reverse is worn nearly flat (photo 8). The 1944 dime exhibits dark surface staining and heavy toning on the obverse (photo 9). The coins generally range in grade from about good to good.
