A Set of Five Vintage Silver Gelatin Glass Lantern Slides Depicting Industrial Processing - This lot consists of a collection of five vintage silver gelatin glass lantern slides documenting various stages of industrial or agricultural processing. The black and white imagery includes a range of interior and exterior views. One slide shows three laborers, including two women and a man in a tie, using tweezers to hand-sort small seed-like objects at long workbenches. Another slide depicts a close-up of a man monitoring a mechanical vibrating sieve. A third slide provides a detailed view of a perforated metal sorting plate. A fourth slide captures a complex interior view of a wooden water wheel mechanism. The final slide is a wide-angle exterior shot of a large-scale processing facility situated on a hillside, featuring an extensive multi-level zigzag conveyor belt system and outbuildings. Each transparency is mounted in a standard format between two plates of glass and bound with black paper tape. Each slide bears a small paper label at the upper right corner with handwritten numerals 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7. Dimensions: 3.25 x 3.25 inches each. The slides are in good vintage condition. There is minor age-related wear to the black paper perimeter binding tape, including small areas of lifting and loss. The glass plates are intact and free of major chips or cracks. Some slides show minor surface dust and small air bubbles consistent with the manufacturing process of the period.
