French Gilt Metal Mechanical Alarm Carriage Clock with Star Patterned Side Panels - This is a mechanical carriage clock featuring a gilt-metal case with an all-over engine-turned honeycomb texture. The rectangular case is constructed with a tiered base and top cap, surmounted by a fixed cylindrical carrying handle. The side panels are inset with glass featuring a decorative gilt star-in-lattice lozenge pattern. The circular dial has a matte gold-toned finish with black Roman numeral hour markers and a double-line minute track, fitted with black-finished steel spade hands. The mechanical wind-up movement includes an alarm function, set via a secondary dial on the backplate, which strikes an under-mounted bell. The backplate features two integrated winding keys and a central winding arbor, with a regulator lever accessible through a top slot. The movement does not run. There is significant loss to the dial finish, visible as several white spots near the 9 o'clock marker, the center post, and between the 4 and 5 o'clock markers. A small jagged chip or casting flaw is present on the bottom-left corner of the base molding. Accumulated dust is visible behind the side glass panels. The movement does not run and requires professional servicing.
