Victorian Sterling Silver Key-Wind Open-Face Pocket Watch Birmingham 1894 - This antique open-face pocket watch features a sterling silver case with a white enamel dial. The dial is designed with black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial located at the six o'clock position. The watch utilizes a manual, key-wind and key-set lever movement with a gilt finish. Both the movement plate and the interior case back are stamped with the matching serial number 9714. The interior case back bears British hallmarks for sterling silver, including a lion passant, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the date letter u for 1894. The case interior is further stamped with the maker's mark R.J.P and the pendant is marked with the initials HB. The movement includes an engraved balance cock and a regulator scale marked Slow and Fast. The exterior case back features engine-turned engraving surrounding a vacant central shield-shaped cartouche. As per provided specifications, this watch does not run. Winding key is not included. Case Size: 51 mm. The sterling silver case shows significant tarnish and surface oxidation throughout. The engine-turned engraving on the case back displays heavy wear and smoothing from handling. The white enamel dial is in overall good condition with no visible hairlines or cracks, though some light surface dust is present. The blued steel hour, minute, and seconds hands are intact. The crystal is present and appears clear. The movement is complete but is currently non-functional and does not run. Winding key is missing.
