Seth Thomas 18 Size Silverine Open-Face Pocket Watch - A late 19th-century open-face pocket watch manufactured by Seth Thomas of Thomaston, Connecticut. The movement is a full-plate damaskeened design featuring a safety pinion and is engraved with the maker's name and location. The movement serial number is 706642, and the pillar plate is stamped with the number 2145. The watch is housed in a heavy Dueber Silverine case, a nickel-silver base metal alloy, manufactured in Canton, Ohio. The case features reeded edges on the bezel and back cover and a gold-toned winding crown. The white enamel dial is marked Seth Thomas and features Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track with Arabic numerals in five-minute increments, and a sunken sub-second dial at the 6 o'clock position. The hands are blued steel in a decorative spade style. This watch does not run. Case size: 58mm. The watch is in poor to fair condition. The enamel dial is severely damaged with multiple large cracks across the face and a significant chip with material loss at the 9 o'clock position. The crystal is broken with multiple radiating cracks and missing shards. The Silverine case exhibits moderate surface scratching, tarnish, and wear consistent with age. The movement is non-functional and does not run.
