Vintage Gruen Veri-Thin 10kt Gold Filled Manual Wind Wristwatch Ref 435-672 - This is a vintage Gruen Veri-Thin manual-wind wristwatch, reference number 435-672. The watch features a rectangular case constructed with a 10 karat gold-filled bezel and a stainless steel Guildite case back. The silvered dial exhibits applied gold-tone Arabic numerals and indices, complemented by a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The movement is a 17-jewel manual-wind Swiss caliber. It is equipped with a vintage Kreisler expansion bracelet featuring a 1/2 12 karat gold-filled top and a stainless steel back. Dial markings include GRUEN, VERI-THIN, and SWITZERLAND. The movement is engraved with GRUEN WATCH CO, SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS, UNADJUSTED, SWITZERLAND, 459928, and VERI-THIN PATENTED. The internal case back is stamped CASED AND TIMED IN U.S.A. BY GRUEN WATCH CO., STAR WATCH CASE CO., 10K GOLD FILLED / GUILDITE BACK, 0664767, and 435-672. The external case back features a crown logo above the text GRUEN and BASE METAL. The expansion bracelet is marked KREISLER USA, 1/2-12KT G.F. TOP, and STAINLESS. This item does not run. Case size: 25mm width (excluding crown) by 38mm length (lug to lug). The watch is in used, non-running condition. The gold-filled case and bracelet show heavy brassing and significant wear through the gold layer to the base metal, particularly on the lugs and edges. The dial displays minor oxidation and surface spotting. The acrylic crystal is scratched and has a visible crack on the bottom edge. The movement exhibits surface tarnish and visible verdigris/corrosion near the crown and winding gears.
