Antique Velvet Pocket Watch Presentation Box - An antique rectangular presentation box designed for the storage and display of a pocket watch or circular medal. The exterior is upholstered in crimson red velvet and features a decorative brass fleur-de-lis style latch and a rear hinge. The interior of the lid is lined with red silk. The base of the interior contains a custom-fitted bed of light blue velvet with a central circular recess designed to secure a timepiece or award. There are no visible maker marks, signatures, or labels on the interior or exterior. The exterior red velvet has multiple areas of pile loss, staining, and accumulated dust. The interior red silk lining in the lid is frayed and tearing along the hinge and edges. The light blue velvet lining in the base is heavily creased and shows light soiling. The brass hardware is present and functional but shows a dark aged patina and tarnishing.
