Antique Swiss Open Face Silver Pocket Watch - This is an unbranded mid-to-late 19th-century open-face pocket watch featuring a manual key-wind and key-set movement. The case is constructed from silver-toned metal, likely a Continental silver alloy. The white enamel dial is decorated with black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer blue Arabic numeral minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The cuvette, or inner dust cover, is engraved with N 47000 and Cylindre 8 rubis. The movement is a bridge-style design utilizing a cylinder escapement and 8 jewels. The inner case back is stamped with the serial number 47000 and the digit 2. A small, indistinct hallmark featuring a central shield is present on the interior of the case back alongside various hand-scratched service marks. The exterior case back is finished with engine-turned guilloche decoration and a vacant central cartouche. Case Diameter: 1.75 inches. The watch is in poor condition and is being offered for parts or repair. The enamel dial exhibits severe damage, including large chips with loss at the 3 o'clock and 7-8 o'clock positions, as well as multiple hairline cracks. Both the hour and minute hands are missing. The engine-turned decoration on the case back is heavily worn, and the case shows significant tarnishing and surface wear throughout. The movement is complete but untested, and no winding key is included.
