Bulova 1954 10K Rolled Gold Plate Open Face Pocket Watch Caliber 17AH - A vintage open-face pocket watch by Bulova, featuring a 10K rolled gold plate case. The watch is powered by a manual-wind Swiss movement, caliber 17AH, containing 17 jewels and marked Bulova Watch Co, Swiss Unadjusted, and Seventeen Jewels. Both the movement and the interior case back bear the L4 date code, identifying the production year as 1954. The silver-tone dial features applied gold-tone Arabic numeral hour markers and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The case is detailed with a decorative engraved pattern on the bezel. The interior case back is stamped Bulova, New York, 10K Rolled Gold Plate, and includes the serial number R580330 along with various hand-etched watchmaker service marks. Diameter: 1.75 inches (44.5 mm). The watch runs but needs a crystal replacement. The dial exhibits significant oxidation and pitting (freckling) across the surface, with a notable area of finish deterioration located between the 8 and 10 o'clock positions. The gold-tone hands show minor oxidation. The case displays moderate surface scratching and wear to the gold plating on high-relief areas of the bezel and the center of the case back. The movement appears visually clean; however, full mechanical accuracy has not been tested.
