Ollendorff Art Deco Lady's Filigree Wristwatch with Original Inner and Outer Boxes - A vintage lady's mechanical wristwatch by the Ollendorff Watch Company, featuring a distinctive Art Deco filigree design. The manual wind movement is a Swiss 15-jewel caliber with three adjustments, marked GXC on the bridge and numbered 45914. The movement requires a new mainspring. The white metal case is intricately decorated with openwork filigree and set with two blue baguette-cut stones and two small round clear accent stones. The winding crown is finished with a blue cabochon stone. The case back interior is stamped with the maker's name, an E within a square, and the mark 18K S.f. The exterior case back is engraved with a stylized GHC monogram. The cream-colored dial features black Arabic numerals in an Art Deco typeface within an oval track. The watch is fitted with a white 1/20-12K gold filled link bracelet featuring a fold-over clasp marked with a triangular manufacturer's logo and U.S. Patent number 2,097,055. This lot includes the original red velvet-lined presentation case and the rare original outer cardboard retail box from the Chatham-Phenix Building, New York. Case size: 25mm x 16mm (excluding crown) Total lug-to-lug length: 32mm Bracelet length: 158mm. The watch is in fair vintage condition. The dial shows significant patination, spotting, and general discoloration. The case displays surface scratches and minor tarnishing consistent with age, with light verdigris visible at the edges of the crystal near the 10 and 2 o'clock positions. The mechanical movement is complete but currently non-functional and requires the replacement of the mainspring. The gold filled bracelet shows light surface wear. The red velvet inner presentation case is well-preserved. The outer cardboard box exhibits significant wear, including structural softening, tears, and losses to the paper covering.
