Waltham American Watch Co P.S. Bartlett 18-Size Pocket Watch with Bead Chain and Keys - An 18-size American pocket watch manufactured by the American Watch Co. (Waltham). The watch features a manual key-wind and key-set full-plate movement, grade P. S. Bartlett, with Fogg’s Patent. The movement is finished with an engraved balance cock and blued steel screws. The white enamel dial features Roman numeral hour markers, a recessed sub-seconds track at the 6 o'clock position, and a minute track along the outer circumference. The watch is housed in an open-face Silverine case, a nickel-silver alloy produced by the Dueber Watch Case Mfg. Co. of Canton, Ohio. The case features a hinged back cover with a circular port for key winding and a display of engine-turned damaskeening on the interior. Accompanying the watch is a steel bead chain with a T-bar and two winding keys, one of which has a circular head stamped with the name WILLIAMS. Dial: AMERICAN WATCH CO. Movement: WALTHAM, MASS., P. S. Bartlett, Fogg's Patent, 2049749. Case Interior: DUEBER, SILVERINE, CANTON, O., 6258676. Case Diameter: 2.25 inches (approximate). The watch is reported to run but needs a crystal. The hour and minute hands exhibit significant surface rust and oxidation. The sub-seconds hand is missing from its post. The enamel dial shows minor age-related spots and very fine hairline crazing. The case exhibits overall surface scratches, minor pitting, and wear consistent with its age and use. The accompanying keys and chain show surface oxidation and wear.
