A Collection of Waltham Watch Co. New Old Stock Pocket Watch Movement Components - A collection of vintage watch movement components manufactured by the Waltham Watch Co. of Waltham, Massachusetts. These components are New Old Stock (NOS) and remain in their original mid-century military and commercial packaging, dating between 1949 and 1953. The collection features internal mechanical parts primarily for Waltham 16-size, 17-jewel pocket watches and model X1617. Included items comprise winding washers, shipper springs, shipper bars, clicks, click springs, barrels, shippers, and balance endstone cap screws. Multiple plastic envelopes feature the handwritten signature Francis J. Watts, and one label is marked Weathers. Many labels denote military ordnance contract numbers, including DA-36-038-ORD-14445 and DA-36-038-ORD-14003. Method IA preservation methods are specified on the 1953 dated cardboard labels. The components are unused and remain preserved in original sealed or stapled packaging. Paper labels and cardboard exhibit natural age-related yellowing, minor surface staining, and light creasing. Plastic envelopes show minor shelf wear consistent with age.
