Sessions Clock Co. Miniature Inlaid Wood Beehive Mantel Clock - This miniature beehive-style mantel clock was produced by The Sessions Clock Co. of Forestville, Connecticut. The case is constructed of stained wood with a mahogany-tone finish, featuring light-colored stenciled or inlaid decorative elements including a perimeter stringing border and a central diamond motif with foliate accents. The clock is supported by four brass bun feet. The circular off-white dial features black Arabic numerals, a formal minute track, and a small subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The dial is protected by a glass lens held within a brass bezel. The mechanical movement is a 30-hour ”One Day Time” time-only mechanism. The reverse of the case retains its original paper manufacturer label which identifies the company as the successor to The E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. and includes a handwritten number 35. Height: 8 3/4 inches Width: 5 3/4 inches. The clock is in fair antique condition. The wooden case finish shows widespread crazing, surface scuffs, and minor scratches consistent with age. There is a visible area of finish loss and discoloration on the dial located between the 3 and 5 o'clock positions. All brass components, including the bezel and feet, show significant oxidation and tarnishing. The mechanical movement appears complete but is dusty and remains untested for functionality. The original paper label on the reverse is darkened by age and exhibits minor surface abrasions.
