Vintage Elgin Marbled Plastic Watch Presentation Box - A vintage empty watch presentation box by Elgin. The exterior is constructed from molded cream-colored marbleized plastic with a hinged lid. The lid features a silver-tone stylized E logo and the brand name ELGIN. The interior is lined with black fabric and includes a central C-clip for watch mounting. The interior lid is printed in gold-tone with the Elgin name and the text HOROLOGISTS FOR OVER 100 YEARS. A side panel in the base features the E logo and specifications for a 17-jewel watch with Incabloc shockproofing and an unbreakable mainspring. A gold-tone ribbon along the bottom edge reads OVER 70,000,000 WATCHES. Four gold-tone medallions are printed along the rear interior base with text including SWITZERL, ACCURATUS, POSITUM, EXCELLENS, and UNITED STATES. 4.75 inches x 3.5 inches x 1.75 inches. The exterior plastic case shows yellowing and a marbleized patina consistent with age. A small dark scuff is present on the lower-right front corner of the base. The interior black fabric is intact with minor accumulated lint. The decorative gold-tone ribbon on the interior base is frayed and partially detached at the right end. The rear metal hinge is functional and secure.
