Hamilton Grade 4992B G.C.T. WWII US Military Navigation Pocket Watch - Hamilton Grade 4992B G.C.T. (Greenwich Civil Time) military navigation master watch manufactured for the United States Army Air Forces under a 1943 contract. This 16-size timepiece features a base metal case with a screw-down bezel and case back. The black 24-hour dial is marked G.C.T. and displays white Arabic numerals from 1 to 24 with an outer track graduated to 60. The movement is a high-grade, manual-wind caliber with 22 jewels, adjusted to temperature and six positions, and incorporates a hacking function that stops the second hand for precise synchronization. The watch is in running condition. The exterior case back is inscribed: AN 5740, MFR'S PART NO. 33106, SERIAL NO. AF43- 24685, CONTRACT NO. W535 ac-40783, HAMILTON WATCH CO. The interior of the case back is marked with the Keystone banner logo, a K inside a keystone symbol, BASE METAL, and the serial number 920185. The movement is marked: 4992B, 22 JEWELS, HAMILTON WATCH CO. U.S.A., 4C6105, ADJ. TEMP. AND 6 POSITIONS. Case Diameter: 2 inches (51 mm). The black dial is in excellent condition with crisp white numerals and lettering. The original white-painted spade-style hour and minute hands and the sweep second hand show minimal wear. The crystal exhibits light surface scratches and minor hazing consistent with age and field use. The base metal case shows typical light surface scratches and signs of wear. The movement is visually clean and well-preserved. The watch is reported to be in running condition.
