Elgin Size 12 Open Face Pocket Watch with Montgomery Dial - An antique Elgin open face pocket watch featuring a white Montgomery style dial. The dial is characterized by black Arabic hour numerals and a red outer minute track with individual numbers from 1 to 60. A subsidiary seconds dial is positioned at 6 o clock. The dial is signed ELGIN below the 12 o clock marker. The silver toned metal case is decorated with ornate floral and scrollwork engraving along the bezel and coin edged sides. The case back displays an engine turned pinstripe pattern surrounding a central shield shaped cartouche that remains unmonogrammed. Case diameter: 1.75 inches. This pocket watch does not run and needs a crystal and crown. The winding crown and crystal are both missing. Visible surface rust and oxidation are present on the hands. There is significant green verdigris corrosion on the bow, pendant, and within the crown socket. The case shows surface scratches and wear consistent with age. Offered for parts or restoration.
