Lionel No. 3469 Automatic Dumping Ore Car with Original Box - This is a postwar O-gauge model railroad freight car manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. Identified as Model No. 3469, this Automatic Dumping Ore Car features a die-cast metal body and chassis with die-cast trucks and operating couplers. The car is finished in black with white printed lettering and contains an integrated operating dumping mechanism powered by an underside solenoid and plunger. Accompanying the car is an original cloth accessory bag containing simulated ore, which bears the printed marks AL Lionel Corp New York Made in U.S. of America. The lot includes the original Lionel orange and blue cardboard box. Transcribed markings on the car body include AUTOMATIC DUMP CAR, LIONEL 34 69 LINES, CAPY. 100,000 LBS., 30 YDS., and LT. WT. 77,300 LBS. Transcribed markings on the box include No. 3469, AUTOMATIC DUMPING ORE CAR, THE LIONEL CORPORATION, NEW YORK, CHICAGO, and 3469. The car is in good vintage condition with minor signs of play wear, including small paint chips and light surface oxidation on the trucks and other metal components. The white lettering remains clear and legible. The dumping mechanism appears complete but has not been tested for functionality. The cloth ore bag shows minor age-related discoloration but remains intact. The original cardboard box shows shelf wear appropriate for its age, including creasing, softening of corners, and small tears. One end flap is partially detached.
