A Set of Vintage Lionel Postwar O-Gauge Model Train Items Featuring a 726 Berkshire Steam Locomotive - This is a collection of vintage Lionel postwar O-gauge model train items. The set features a Lionel model 726 Berkshire type 2-8-4 steam locomotive. The locomotive is constructed with a die-cast metal boiler and chassis and includes metal drive rods. It is marked 726 on the cab and MADE IN U.S. OF AMERICA on the side of the boiler. Accompanying the locomotive is a matching die-cast metal coal tender marked LIONEL LINES in white block lettering. The rolling stock includes a model X3464 NYC operating boxcar in brown plastic with metal trucks, featuring a sliding blue plastic figure and markings including NYC 159000 and BUILT BY LIONEL. Also included is a model 6462 NYC black plastic gondola car marked N Y C and BUILT BY LIONEL, loaded with several loose wooden barrels. The assortment is completed by a silver Sunoco two-dome tank car with a painted plastic body on a black metal chassis, marked CAPACITY 6000 GALS. and BUILT BY LIONEL, and a model 6457 brown plastic caboose marked LIONEL, 6457, and BUILT 9-47. The items are in original, used condition and exhibit a noticeable layer of surface dust. The die-cast locomotive and tender show visible paint wear and loss on sharp edges and raised details. The plastic rolling stock displays minor surface scuffing and paint wear. The barrel loads and the boxcar figure appear to be present. Functional performance, including the motor, smoke unit, and electrical components, has not been tested.
