Lionel Postwar New York Central O-Gauge F3 Diesel Locomotive A-B-B-A Four-Unit Set - This four-unit O-gauge diesel locomotive set was manufactured by Lionel and features the New York Central railroad livery. The set is presented in an A-B-B-A configuration, consisting of two lead A units with cabs and two intermediate cabless B booster units. The locomotives are constructed with plastic shells mounted on die-cast metal chassis and utilize die-cast metal trucks. The side panels are marked with the lettering NEW YORK CENTRAL in white block characters. The A units feature a white decal at the rear reading BUILT BY LIONEL and the GM General Motors logo. A small white character resembling the number 2 is visible near the rear doors. The design is based on the General Motors Electro-Motive Division (EMD) F3 diesel locomotives and features the gray lightning stripe paint scheme. Ornamental horns, trucks, and couplers are present on the units. The set displays moderate signs of age and play wear throughout. Visible paint chips are present, particularly along the roof edges, corners, and pilots. The gray finish shows scattered surface scuffs and scratches. A layer of accumulated dust is visible on all units. The internal electrical and mechanical components have not been tested for functionality. No original boxes or packaging are included.
