O-Gauge Norfolk and Western 2-8-8-2 Y6b Articulated Steam Locomotive and Tender Number 2197 - This is an O-gauge model of a Norfolk and Western Railway Y6b class articulated steam locomotive and tender, attributed to Lionel. The locomotive features a 2-8-8-2 wheel arrangement with road number 2197 printed on the cab sides. The matching tender is marked with Norfolk and Western in gold-toned lettering. The construction consists primarily of die-cast metal with plastic components and brass-toned detail parts. Features include a silver-gray smokebox, separate wire handrails, intricate piping, a brass-toned bell, and detailed rivet patterns throughout the boiler and tender. The model is designed for a three-rail O-gauge track system. Small circular builders plates are located on the sides of the smokebox. The item is in very good condition. Fine detail parts such as handrails and piping appear to be complete and intact. Light surface dust is present from display or storage. No significant paint chips, scratches, or missing components were observed during visual inspection. The mechanical functionality, including motor, sound, and smoke units, has not been tested.
