Lionel 224E O-Gauge Steam Locomotive and Lionel Lines Tender - A Lionel O-gauge model steam locomotive and matching tender. The locomotive is a model 224E, representing a 2-6-2 Prairie type engine. It is constructed from die-cast metal with a dark gray finish and features silver-toned metal connecting rods and valve gear. The locomotive is equipped with a pilot truck and a trailing truck. A rectangular plaque on the side of the cab is marked 224E. The accompanying tender is a rectangular metal model with embossed rivet detailing, finished in matching dark gray. It is mounted on two four-wheel trucks. An applied rectangular nameplate on the side of the tender reads LIONEL LINES. The set does not include the original box or any third-party grading documentation. The locomotive and tender are in used condition showing visible surface wear, dust accumulation, and minor paint loss throughout. There is evidence of light oxidation on some metal surfaces. A piece of non-original twine is tied between the rear of the locomotive and the front of the tender, indicating a missing or damaged original coupling mechanism. The mechanical and electrical components have not been tested for functionality.
