Lionel O/O-27 Gauge Wabash GP-9 Diesel Locomotive No. 6-8587 - Lionel O/O-27 gauge model of a Wabash GP-9 diesel locomotive, catalog number 6-8587, manufactured during the Fundimensions era in 1982. The locomotive features a plastic body shell with a metal chassis, die-cast power truck, and metal handrails. It is finished in the Wabash railroad blue, gray, and white livery with the Follow the Flag logo on the cab side. The side of the unit is marked WABASH in white lettering. Factory specifications listed on the packaging include two Magne-traction driving axles, a remotely controlled electronic diesel horn, an AC-DC universal type motor with worm and gear drive, and powdered iron wheels. The model includes operating knuckle couplers at the front and rear, along with twin headlights, classification lights, and running lights at both ends. The original orange and blue window box is marked with copyright for 1982 Fundimensions, Division of CPG Products Corp., Mount Clemens, Michigan. The locomotive is housed in its original factory clear plastic wrapping. The locomotive appears to be in its original factory clear plastic wrapping and shows no visible signs of use. The original window box exhibits moderate shelf wear, including surface scuffing to the orange finish, edge wear, and light creasing to the cardboard panels. The clear plastic window is intact with some minor wrinkling and surface marks. The motor and electronic horn functions have not been tested.
