A Pair of Lionel 6-8970 and 6-8971 O Gauge Pennsylvania Railroad F3A Diesel Locomotives - This lot consists of a Lionel O and O27 gauge Pennsylvania Railroad F3A dual motor diesel locomotive (model 6-8970) and a matching non-powered unit (model 6-8971). The powered unit features two Pullmor motors with eight-wheel drive and a transformer-controlled forward-neutral-reverse mechanism. Both units are constructed with plastic bodies, die-cast metal chassis, and die-cast trucks. The exterior is finished in a Tuscan Red paint scheme with metallic gold Pennsylvania Railroad markings. Additional features include working headlights, illuminated number plates, and operating knuckle couplers on the front of each unit. The locomotives are housed in their original manufacturer's box with two-piece styrofoam protective inserts and appear to be retained in their original clear plastic bags. Combined length: Approximately 27 inches Weight: Approximately 4 pounds (powered unit). The locomotives appear to be in excellent, well-preserved condition within their original internal packaging. The paint and metallic gold markings are crisp and show no visible wear. The original retail box shows minor shelf wear, including a small tear on one corner and some light creasing, but remains largely intact. The internal styrofoam inserts are present and functional.
