Jan Michaels San Francisco Artisan Mixed Media Cinnabar Style Brooch and Pendant - An artisan mixed-media brooch and pendant by Jan Michaels of San Francisco. The design features a multi-layered construction centered by a rectangular red panel with carved floral and scroll motifs in the style of cinnabar. Overlaid on the carving is a brass-tone filigree frame holding a glossy black diamond-shaped cabochon. The outer frame is composed of gold-tone base metal in an openwork pattern of textured spheres and radiating wires. The reverse features a horizontal pin with a rotating safety clasp and a hinged bail for use as a pendant. A circular plate on the back is stamped with the maker's mark: JAN MICHAELS SAN FRANCISCO.
