Art Deco Silver Tone Shell Cameo Brooch with Openwork Frame - An Art Deco period jewelry piece featuring a hand-carved shell cameo. The oval cameo depicts a classical female profile in relief, facing left, with a prominent floral motif at the shoulder and hair styled in waves gathered in a bun. The carving utilizes the natural layers of the shell, exhibiting a cream-colored foreground against a warm orange-brown background. The cameo is bezel-set within an openwork silver-toned metal frame featuring geometric Art Deco wings and scrollwork at the sides, top, and bottom. The reverse of the brooch is open-backed and includes a horizontal pin assembly with a rotating safety catch.
