Elgin National Watch Co. 17 Jewel Adjusted Pocket Watch Movement and Dial, Serial 33870948 - This is a vintage mechanical pocket watch movement and dial assembly produced by the Elgin National Watch Co. in the United States. The manual wind movement features 17 jewels and is marked as adjusted. The movement plate is engraved with the serial number 33870948, which dates its production to approximately 1933. The plates exhibit decorative damaskeening and are inscribed: 33870948, ELGIN NATL WATCH CO., U.S.A., 17 JEWELS, ADJUSTED. The off-white or silver-toned dial features black stylized Art Deco Arabic numerals and a sunken sub-seconds track at the 6 o'clock position. The dial is marked ELGIN above a five-pointed star symbol. The assembly retains its blued steel hands, including spade and whip style hour and minute hands and a small seconds hand. Dial diameter: approximately 1.5 inches (38mm). This item consists of the movement and dial assembly only; the case, crown, and stem are not included. The dial shows minor surface wear, light oxidation, and small scratches consistent with age and previous use.
