Hamilton Watch Company 18 Size 17-Jewel Open-Face Pocket Watch - This is a manual wind mechanical pocket watch produced by the Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The movement is a 17-jewel adjusted grade with serial number 338455. The movement bridge is marked Hamilton Watch Co. Lancaster, Pa. 17 Jewels Adjusted. The timepiece features a white porcelain enamel dial with black Arabic numeral hour markers and a sunken sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. An outer minute track contains black hash marks with red Arabic five-minute markers from 5 to 60. The hour and minute hands are blued steel spade-style with a baton sub-seconds hand. The open-face case is yellow gold-filled, manufactured by Fahys and marked with a caduceus logo and the stamp Warranted To Wear Permanently. The case serial number is 1506881. The inner dust cover is hand-engraved with the inscription Paul Rockwell 11-8-06. The watch is in running condition. Case diameter: 50.8 mm. The porcelain dial exhibits several prominent hairline cracks radiating from the center post toward the 11, 2, and 5 o'clock positions. There is a small visible chip on the dial edge near the 2 o'clock marker. The gold-filled case shows surface scratches, light edge wear, and multiple hand-scratched watchmaker service marks on the interior of the back cover. The crystal is intact with minor surface abrasions. The movement is operational and runs.
