United States Watch Company 18s Coin Silver Hunter Case Pocket Watch - This is an 18-size hunter case pocket watch produced by the United States Watch Company of Waltham, Massachusetts. The timepiece features a manual wind, lever-set movement with decoratively engraved plates marked U. S. Watch Co. Waltham, Mass. and bearing movement serial number 117547. The white porcelain enamel dial displays Roman numeral hour markers, a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position, and blued steel spade hands. The dial is marked with the maker name in script and WALTHAM in block letters. The hunter case is constructed of coin silver and features elaborate floral and foliate engraved motifs. The interior of the case back is stamped WARRANTED COIN SILVER with the case serial number 2793. The watch is fitted with a gold-tone onion-style winding crown. Diameter: 2 inches (51 mm). The watch is in running condition but is missing the crystal. The coin silver case shows significant tarnish and surface oxidation throughout, with rubbing and wear to the engraved exterior details.
