Illinois Bunn Special 21-Jewel 16s Railroad Grade Pocket Watch - An Illinois Watch Company Bunn Special open-face railroad grade pocket watch. The movement is nickel-finished with decorative damaskeening and is marked Bunn Special, Illinois Watch Co. Springfield, Adjusted Temp. and Six Positions, 21 Jewels, Double Roller, and serial number 4282801, dating the manufacture to approximately 1923. The watch features a white porcelain enamel Montgomery dial with black Arabic numerals, individual minute numbering from 1 to 60, and red numerals at five-minute intervals. A subsidiary seconds dial is located at the 6 o clock position. The hands are blued steel in a spade style. The gold-filled case is manufactured by the Crescent Watch Case Co. (C.W.C. CO.) and is marked Warranted Crescent 25 Years with serial number 1912805. The inner rim of the case is stamped E. Howard Watch Co. Boston. The exterior case back is hand-engraved with an ornate script monogram RPP. Per user-provided information, the watch runs. Diameter: 2 inches (50mm) Size: 16s. The porcelain dial exhibits several visible hairline cracks radiating from the center toward the 11, 2, and 4 o clock positions.
