John Forrest London Lever Fusee Pocket Watch Movement and Dial Serial 16762 - An antique English pocket watch movement and dial assembly produced by John Forrest, London. The key-wind and key-set lever fusee movement is constructed with gold-gilt brass plates. The backplate is engraved John Forrest London E.C. and Chronometer Maker to the Admiralty, along with the serial number No 16762 enclosed in a scroll. The balance cock is decorated with floral engraving and features a regulator scale marked Slow and Fast. The white enamel dial presents black Roman numeral hour markers and a sunken sub-seconds track at the 6 o'clock position. The dial surface is marked John Forrest London E.C. and includes the serial number 16762. Dial diameter: 1.75 inches. Missing case and hands. The enamel dial exhibits a chip near the edge between the 12 and 1 o'clock positions and some surface grime. The gilt brass movement shows tarnish and oxidation. The hairspring appears slightly distorted. The mechanical movement is untested and the working condition is unknown. This item is offered as-is for parts or restoration.
