19th Century Sigillographic Specimen Wax Seal Impression Monastery of Bethlehem Westerblokker 1432 - This item is a sigillographic specimen consisting of a green wax seal impression mounted on a square buff cardstock. The impression is a reproduction of the ecclesiastical seal for the Monastery of Bethlehem in Westerblokker, located near Hoorn in the Netherlands. The seal is rendered in a vesica piscis form, the traditional almond shape used by religious institutions. The central design depicts two religious figures standing beneath an ornate Gothic architectural canopy, with a small heraldic shield positioned at the base of the composition. The border of the seal contains an inscription in Gothic or Lombardic script, with legible characters including S CONVENTVS WESTERBLOK. The card mount features handwritten identification notes in Dutch ink, identifying the seal as belonging to Brother Dirk Hamer, Prior of the Regular Canons (Regulieren).
